01The product
An internal tool leadership used to track firm metrics across different areas of the business, such as financial results by line of service, region, and industry.
02My role
I worked on UI changes, built mockups and clickable prototypes in Adobe XD, and helped create a universal left navigation for the product. I also set up, ran, and took notes on usability testing sessions.
03Universal left navigation
The product had many sections plus shortcuts to other internal tools. I helped design one left navigation (Home, My Profile, My Team, Leadership, Applications) that can expand to show labels or collapse to icons to give the data more room, with breadcrumbs at the top showing where you are.
04Usability testing
I set up the sessions, scheduled participants through a shared sign-up sheet, ran the sessions, and took notes that went back into our design reviews.
05How the team worked
Our UX/UI team held design reviews twice a week, looked at other sites that require moving through multiple tiers to reach a target, and tested our work in-house as we iterated.
