SHARE FOR MY CARE
THE PROBLEM
There are no reliable and secure sites out there that focus purely on crowdfunding for medical needs. Share for My Care provides users with a safe way to ask for help to get the care they need.
MY ROLE
As part of my role, I handled various aspects of the project, including web design, SEO, copywriting, UX design, wireframing, prototyping, user research, storyboarding, and user flows.
USER RESEARCH
To ensure an effective design for the site, it was crucial to first understand the target user. Extensive research was conducted on various funding sites and their users. The findings were shared and discussed with colleagues, revealing the possibility of multiple personas for this project. However, due to time constraints, a primary persona named "Alicia" was created.

Alicia embodies several key characteristics of the target users:
- Minimal family support
- Lower to middle-class background
- Struggling to secure sufficient finances
- Unable to miss work obligations

Building upon this understanding, the next step involved mapping out Alicia's user flow on the website and establishing an appropriate information architecture.
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
During the process of structuring the site's information architecture, I considered several key questions:
- How does the site function?
- What is the main purpose and content of the site?
- Is there an option to initiate a campaign?
- Is user login necessary?
- Can users contribute to campaigns?

Based on these inquiries, I formulated the initial level of the information architecture, outlining the foundational structure and organization of the site.
storyboarding
The storyboards played a crucial role in visually depicting Alicia's journey on the site based on her different landing points. Although I created sketches for only a few of her journeys, they proved immensely valuable to the developer and stakeholders.

By visualizing Alicia's journey, the team gained a clear understanding of the ideal layout, moving beyond mere imagination. This alignment ensured minimal changes were needed later in the process, keeping everyone on the same page.

An illustration of one such storyboard is shown below, detailing Alicia's exploration of a campaign. Now, let's proceed to the wireframes.
WIREFRAMING
After finalizing and aligning the visuals through storyboarding, I proceeded to create low-fidelity wireframes as the foundation for the design. These wireframes drew inspiration from competitor websites like gofundme.com and fundly.com, incorporating elements and overall layouts identified during the research phase. The wireframe encompassed essential components such as the homepage, login, sign up, campaign creation, and more.

Following a thorough review and discussion of the wireframes with the developer, I proceeded to enhance them by incorporating colors and images, breathing life into the design. This step aimed to provide a more realistic and visually appealing representation. Once a prototype was created based on the high-fidelity mockup, it served as an excellent starting point for the developer and CEO.
PROJECT LESSON
I gained valuable experience by introducing UX design methods to a company, which proved highly beneficial as they embraced the concepts. Moreover, this experience equipped me with the skills to implement these methods effectively in future projects across various industries.
